Aims:
Awakening your individual vocal potential and its application to spoken word or song in a fun, playful working atmosphere. A wide range of exercises will aim to develop links between body, voice, imagination and emotion.
Course content:
• Releasing unnecessary physical and mental tensions in relation to voice use.
• Encouraging links between the voice and the whole body.
• Building our relationship to others and to the performance space.
• Developing listening skills and spontaneity.
• Extending our vocal range.
• Exploring the physical and emotional content of words and text.
• Developing improvisation techniques.
• Students will work solo, in pairs, and as a group
• Individual direction from tutor.
Students are required to bring a chosen text or song to work with.

Course Leader
John Wild
John has worked as an actor, director and voice teacher for the last twenty eight years. He trained in voice at Central in 1994, is currently Head of Voice at ALRA. In Jan 2009 ,after several years of study with founder members of the Roy Hart Theatre he became a recognised Roy Hart voice teacher. To add to his training he is currently studying with Kristen Linklater.
As well teaching, John has currently been performing a one man show, 'The Pigeon Affair'. ( see pigeonaffair.com ).
