This course gives voice practitioners an opportunity to pursue an intensive training in the extended voice work originally discovered and developed by A.Wolfsohn and Roy Hart.

Main Aims
•To give the student an opportunity to explore the whole range of the voice and the interdisciplinary links between this voice work and:
- Body work
- Acting skills
- Musical sensibility
• To learn exercises and activities to explore and develop listening skills; the links between voice and physical gesture; movement in space; voice in space; vocal quality and range using pre-verbal /uncultivated vocal sounds; song and the spoken word.
• To explore the dynamic, resonating sources of vocal sounds in the body, their expressive power and how they are linked to the imagination.
• To explore the physical and emotional content of words and text.
• To develop improvisation techniques to explore the above.
• To receive direction and feedback from tutor to help encourage vocal development
• Students will work as a group, in pairs and on an individual basis and receive one to one direction from tutor.


Course Leaders

John Wild John has worked as an actor, director and voice teacher for the last twenty eight years. He is currently Head of Voice at ALRA and for the last few years has been working with several founder members of the Roy Hart Theatre. John became a recognised Roy Hart voice teacher in Jan 2009, after several years of study. He is passionate about this particular approach to voice, it's application in performance and as a tool for personal development.
